Embroidered Red Qipao Gown
1) Shayen
For an outdoor summer wedding, the bride wanted a relaxed yet elegant qipao gown that she could dance in. We settled for a floral-embroidered tulle layered over a red satin silk, cut with a fit-and-flare silhouette. A scallop edge is used to create an intricate asymmetrical detailing and outline the open keyhole back.
Thrilled by this design, our client requested for a family set that matched the bridal gown. For mum, we designed an asymmetrical qipao top and outlined the seams with embroidered flowers. For sister, a cropped qipao top paneled with a floral brocade. And, for dad, a red silk tie embroidered with flowers.

The finale gown of a wedding banquet in Malaysia, this qipao was a statement piece that fused modern and traditional elements. As the design would be dominated by the floral-embroidered tulle, we kept to a classic qipao silhouette tapered at the hem but with a slim mandarin collar and an open keyhole back outlined with the scallop edge.
